Last year SbA held Australia’s first ever Pro/Am Tour. The three stop series saw the first two events held in Melbourne (City Squared and Shocklands) and the final held in Sydney (The Island). After our top skaters destroyed all three stops we were enabled to crown Tommy Fynn our first ever Australian Champion. It was the icing on the skate cake of a huge year for Tommy; a year that also saw him take out second place at the South African Maloof and receive a coveted slot on the re-launched Stereo Skateboards team.

As the dust settled post-final at ‘The Island’ it was clear that Tommy had taken out the title. He had racked up two 2nd’s (City Squared and The Island) and a 1st (Shocklands) over the three stops of the tour. SbA lens-bandit Matty Hooker caught up with Tommy over the Christmas break to look back at the 2011 Pro/Am Tour. Tommy talks about the feeling of being crowned Oz Champ, the skaters he was particularly hyped on during the tour, his favourite courses, favourite obstacles and much more.

Just want to take this chance to say thanks to everyone involved in the tour: from the organisers, to the sponsors, to the builders and the talent. After the success of the first year we are expecting a humdinger of a 2012 for the SbA Pro/Am Tour. The final rankings for 2011 can be seen here.
