'Fair Go' Skateboarding Festival 2006
Fair Go, the biggest skateboarding event for Northern NSW and reputedly one of the best in Australia is on again this year at Ballina’s Missingham Skate Park, Saturday October 14. The event has grown incredibly since its grass-roots beginnings at Ballina Fair Shopping Centre car park in 1999, and continues to create a name to be proud of.
This year’s jam packed day features top quality skate prizes from Kwala, Kewday, Krew, Cortech, Emily the Strange and more, DJs, live music and stacks of spectator giveaways. There will also be market stalls and of course excessive amounts of skateboarding.
Last year over 2000 spectators cheered on 87 competitors. Up to 100 skaters are expected to compete at this year’s event across the following divisions: Open Sponsored, 16 and under, 13 and under, Open Women’s, Open Men’s, Father and Son / Adopt a Kid and Over 30’s Veterans.
Fair Go is run by an experienced and enthusiastic team of competition specialists, independent judges and volunteers. Unlike most skate competitions Fair Go is managed by a non-profit community organization (Ballina District Community Services Association) creating an organic, homegrown and unpretentious atmosphere as well as top quality skating.
All participants MUST wear a helmet to compete in the event. Order your entry forms from the Ballina YAC from August 20:
