Skateboarding Australia Launches - ‘2007 SbA Summer Series’
Skateboarding Australia (SbA) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2007 SbA Summer Series. The SbA Summer Series is a four-stop junior qualifying series throughout New South Wales & Queensland this January school holidays.
The finalists from these four qualifying events then earn an invitation to compete in the SbA Summer Series Final. The 2007 SbA Summer Series Final will be held in April at Berowra Skate Park located in Hornsby Shire Council.
All dates, venues for the inaugural Summer Series have been confirmed with NSW & QLD the first states hosting one of the four qualifying spots on the 2007 calendar.
SbA Project Manager Glenn Walker mentioned “SbA is pleased to allow young skateboarders new event opportunities and to experience a competition series with their peers in a fun, safe and professionally managed environment”
With Gosford City Council and Umina Skate Park hosting the first qualifying event on the 13th of January up to 120 skateboarders will be vying for their start in April’s Summer Series Final.
The SbA Summer Series qualifying events crown local male and female champions across four divisions (14’s & Under boys, 16’s & Under Boys & Girls and 16’s & Under Sponsored).
SbA is looking forward to providing an exciting skateboarding series that caters specifically to the 16’s & Under category. This unique junior series is offering participants the opportunity to compete in a qualifying pathway rarely seen in the Australian skateboarding industry.
